how is FTF impacting young people with better ARTS access?
It is a scientific fact that participation in and exposure to the performing arts has a lasting positive impact on the academic, social, and emotional well-being of children and youth. We want ALL children and students to have equal access to these amazing benefits- without any barriers. That's why FTF not only produces professional theatrical events, but we also strive to...
HELP deserving performers
There are children with big talent and bold dreams all over Middle Tennessee, but not all of them have the same resources to afford the training that helps them get ahead, or the moments that make their dreams come alive.
FTF helps by offering Arts Access Scholarships to local youth attending illustrious programs nationwide; programs that foster their talent and drive their future goals.
HOST affordable programs
FTF hosts affordable workshops and masterclasses for youth in a variety of locations around Middle Tennessee. We provide free tickets to attend our shows for groups and schools serving under-resourced teens- giving many their first ever exposure to professional productions. We paid for headshots for theatre students across Metro Nashville through our partnership with TPAC's Spotlight Awards program. Arts exposure is critical to the development of the mind, the culture, and the health of the next generation.
Hire young professionals
FTF is committed to an annual "Young Artist Fellowship," hiring local college-aged students with an aim toward careers in Technical Theatre Arts to work as sponsored Fellows. Learning on the job in a healthy, nurturing environment, alongside seasoned professionals, is a vital early step in the career of many creatives We hope to build a thriving, paid training ground for the future of theatre in the South.
Giving Kids a chance to shine

Video can’t be displayed
FTF knows that the true value of the arts in a child's life can't be measured with money. But some children - even here in our area- cannot afford or get access to these opportunities. FTF is actively working to sponsor deserving children from right here in Middle Tennessee who have all of the drive, talent, and love for the theatre - but might need additional resources to attend special programs. We know a child's light truly shines brightest when they do what they love and nothing is holding them back. That's why our 2024 Arts Access Scholarship was awarded to 10 year old Ileigh Austin!
